Somerset County Council are recruiting for a part time Administration Assistant.
We are looking for an Administration Assistant to join our Admissions and Entitlements team on an 18.5 per week contract, working Wednesday afternoons, Thursdays and Fridays.
The Admissions and Entitlements Team process applications from parents for Free School Meals, Funding for 2 year olds and Early Years Pupil Premium as well as processing claims from nursery providers for Funding for 2 year olds and the Early Years Entitlement.
The position available is for a part-time Administration Assistant (as part of a job share) and you will deal with checking, processing and paying applications/claims along with being the first point of call for advice/support for the nursery/school sector on the Early Years Entitlement, Funding for 2 year olds, Free School Meals etc as well as dealing with day to day office duties like filing and dealing with the post. There is a lot of computer work including large volumes of data input involved.
We are looking for a motivated, flexible and enthusiastic individual to work in a friendly, busy, front-line service. Attention to detail, good IT skills and good communication skills are essential. The ability to adapt and be flexible to the changing needs of the service is also a necessary part of the role.
