Administrative Assistant

The Children’s Social Care Central Payments Team supports colleagues across the county in their work, safeguarding children & young people.

Here’s what you can expect to be doing

We have a vacancy for a Business Support Assistant, providing support to Somerset’s Children Social Care operational teams. Much of the work involves using a specialist database to set up and amend payments to Foster Carers, Adopters, Special Guardians and Care Leavers.

A few things about you

You will need to be pro-active, numerate, be confident in using IT and have an attention to detail. You should have an understanding of working with sensitive and confidential information. You will be taking calls from colleagues, carers and members of the public and will need to be able to communicate well and have a good ‘customer service’ focus.

The role is varied and interesting where the ability to prioritise workloads is essential. You should be educated to OLevel/GCSE standard (Grade C), including English Language and Maths.

This is a full time role of 37 hours a week; however, part-time hours will be considered, Monday to Wednesday.

Salary £18,887 to £19,264 per annum/pro rata.
