This is an exciting fixed term opportunity until 31/03/2023 to join Childrens Services as a Senior Business Support Assistant who will provide specialist, high quality business support to the Statutory Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND) Team.

As a Senior Business Support Administrator, you will play a valuable part in assisting Operational colleagues, who support children, young people and their families.

Working within a busy, collaborative and supportive administrative team, you would be undertaking a range of activities.

Here’s what you can expect to be doing

  • Data entry using a variety of platforms e.g., case management system
  • Processing work received in and out from schools, parents, agencies, and Health and Social Care via Outlook and the case management Portal
  • Extensive use of Microsoft Office 365 applications to process and monitor work, using Outlook, SharePoint and web platforms
  • Direct liaison with schools and other local authorities
  • Working as part of team

A few things about you

We are therefore we are looking for a committed, enthusiastic and flexible administrator.  If you have that ‘Can Do Attitude’, possessing a broad skill set including, attention to detail, strong ICT skills (Office 365), good organisation, communication skills and tenacity – then we want to hear from you!

Additional information

From 1 April 2023 the County and District councils in Somerset will be replaced by a new single unitary authority – Somerset Council. It’s a genuinely exciting time to join us as we work together with the four district councils to deliver the new council for Somerset.

The salary for this role is £19,264 – £20,043 per annum pro rata.
