We are currently seeking an Apprentice Accounts Assistant to support the busy Finance department with a variety of Accounts Tasks.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The Accounts/Finance Assistant Apprenticeship is a great opportunity for a candidate interested in a future in accounting and finance.
During your apprenticeship, you will explore basic accountancy concepts such as double entry bookkeeping and controls and develop your understanding of the differences between Financial and Management Accounting.
You will develop skills to examine data and identify issues, including reconciliation. You will develop confidence in communication with stakeholders, become a supportive member of the team and build working relations within your own team and the wider organisation.
As an apprentice, you will be expected to spend 1 day per week either in college or within the workplace, working towards your apprenticeship programme and at the end of your programme you will be assessed by an independent End Point Assessment Organisation through a structured interview (supported by a portfolio of evidence summary) and an In-tray test, to assess your knowledge of accounting systems and processes, Basic accounting and attention to detail.
Knowledge and Experience:
It would be an advantage to have GCSE`s in the 4 to 9 (A* to C) range or equivalent for English and maths, but this is not essential as you will complete Functional Skills as part of the apprenticeship if necessary.
Your development in the workplace is supported by weekly college attendance, where you will undertake the core knowledge element of your apprenticeship programme and sit assessments for AAT L2.
Working alongside college attendance will require time management and organisational skills and you will be expected to manage this, with the support of your line manager.
