Apprentice Butcher Crediton
Working as part of our wonderful, friendly team; learning an extensive insight into all aspects of poultry processing. Specific training in knife use and butchery with the potential of further training into transferrable skills such as slaughtering and meat inspection.
Main Duties: – Poultry processing. – Packing and grading operation. – Bagging and weighing. – General food hygiene training. – Butchery training.

GCSEs in the A* – E or 9 – 3 range. Individual employers will set the selection criteria for the applicant. Employers who recruit candidates without English and Maths at GCSE Grade D (or Functional Skills Level 1) or above must ensure that the candidate achieves this level before the Apprenticeship Standard can be awarded to the individual.
Potential to secure a full time position as a qualified butcher on completion of your apprenticeship and continue to develop your skills and career.
Things to consider
Must be 17+. Wage much higher than the apprenticeship/minimum wage suggested. Wage reviewed on skill level achieved. Age 17 – £8.00 p/h 18/20 – £8.50 p/h 21+ – £9.02 p/h Transport will be required as workplace is quite remote. However, transport from and to Exeter and Crediton can be offered by the company. Working environment is cold so warm clothes are required but overalls and PPE is provided by the company.
