Apprentice Hire Desk Assistant

Working as part of our Tool Hire team at our Support Centre in Yeovil, this role is a great opportunity to start your career with us.

Our Tool Hire team based at our head office help to ensure we are able to provide our customers with the products and services they need, delivering a friendly, informative and efficient service and our Apprentice will have the opportunity to be an integral part of this.

What you will be doing

Through involvement in all aspects of our activities, you will learn how to support our Tool Hire teams based across our branch network. This will include dealing with queries over the phone and via email, liaising with suppliers and carrying out a wide range of administrative tasks to ensure procedures and processes are followed.

You will build your knowledge of our Tool Hire products and the processes we follow to enable us to hire and off hire products out to our customer base. You will deal with telephone and email queries and orders as well as queries and information from our branch staff. You will learn how to use our computer systems and deal with incoming and outgoing invoices relating to our sales and orders.

An understanding of our products and their uses is key to delivering a great service and you will develop your product knowledge throughout your apprenticeship. In return, we will provide training, support and development to ensure you get the best possible start to your career.  This will involve you completing a Level 2 apprenticeship in Customer Service.

What we’re looking for

You will have good communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to demonstrate an interest in our business and a desire to learn and get involved. Self-motivated and confident with a positive attitude towards providing excellent customer service, you must also be able to multi-task and meet deadlines.   Good PC skills, including Microsoft Office, are desirable.
