Apprentice HR Assistant

We now have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice HR Assistant to join our very busy HR team at our Branch Support Centre in Yeovil.

You’ll be involved in dealing with employee enquiries and day to day HR administration. This role is orientated towards the administrative aspects of HR, Training and Recruitment with a focus on service delivery and our relationship with our employees and Managers.

Starting with the basics, you will learn all aspects of HR administration; from understanding our new starter process to learning about Recruitment and Training. Throughout all this, you will also learn how to provide an exceptional service which ensures your internal customers are well-supported. As part of this support, you will learn how to complete a range of duties and responsibilities which include:

· Assisting with the preparation, logging, and processing of onboarding paperwork.

· Chasing of relevant HR Documentation – return to work documents and sick forms.

· Providing administration support in the posting and set up of recruitment adverts and collation and processing of CV’s.

· Building and maintaining relationships through effective communication.

· Building knowledge to deal effectively with enquiries.

· Assisting with electronic employee records, ensuring all filing and scanning is up to date and accurate.

· Providing advice and guidance on basic HR processes.

· Note taking during formal disciplinary hearings.

Your apprenticeship with us will help you to understand the role of HR Administration and how this role supports the business. As part of this learning, you will undertake the Level 3 standard in HR Support. To support this programme, you will carry out a number of different tasks and duties and you will have the opportunity to gain a real insight into all aspects of HR. Throughout your apprenticeship, we will provide training, support, and development to ensure you get the best possible start to your career.

You will be positive and confident with good communication skills, both written and verbal. Able to focus on the task and be detail conscious, you will enjoy working with people and understand the importance of good customer service. Along with a desire to learn and get involved, you will possess good organisational skills and enjoy being part of a team. You will have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s or equivalent (including English & Maths) with good PC skills, including Microsoft Office. The role may require some travel, so a full driving licence is essential.
