We have exciting opportunities for Casual / Bank Support workers to join our teams working across the Frome and Nunney areas of East Mendip, supporting adults with a learning disabilities and Autism to live a fulfilled, happy and safe life.
We support people living in their own homes across a variety of different hours during the week, from just a few hours a day to people who need support across 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
You will be supporting people both in their own homes with meal preparation, personal care, planning and household tasks and ensuring people have the opportunity to access their local and wider community by supporting with travel training, keeping safe, social and leisure activities and groups.
Your role will be to ensure the people we support are living their best life, making their own choices and working towards their goals and aspirations, as part of person centred and flexible support.
Being a driver, with access to a car for work purposes, is essential for this role as you will be required to work across all areas of East Mendip. Where travelling between shifts, and dependent on location and base, mileage may be paid at 0.43p per mile.

Skills & Experience
No experience is necessary as we provide all the relevant training to enable you to provide excellent care to the people we support. A Bank Support Worker post with Affinity Trust is a varied and interesting role, our staff tell us that it “is fulfilling, fun and offers real opportunities to make a difference to people’s lives!”
As a Bank Support Worker you will be working with people with a range of support needs; people who have a learning disability, but may also be on the autistic spectrum, have physical disabilities or associated health needs such as epilepsy, dementia or mental health needs.
As a bank support worker you will play a key role in enabling the people you support to carry out all of the daily living tasks involved in everyday life. That could be helping someone to live independently within their own home and activities such as:
- Personal are, i.e. helping people to bathe
- Physical support, such as moving with a hoist or wheelchair
We need bank staff who are able to work shifts, for example waking nights, day and evening shifts, sleep-ins etc. The ability to drive would also be an advantage.
