Business Admin Apprenticeship – Property Services

Sedgemoor District Council is fully committed to the ongoing development of its employees and this includes our apprentices. We continue to invest significantly in apprenticeships with a range of positions each year in different services across the Council.


£4.91 rising to £8.83 (£9,472.27 rising to £17,034.65)

This position offers a unique and exciting opportunity gaining a Level 3 Business Administration qualification alongside valuable on the job training and experience. Full support and training will be given for all aspects of the work that the apprentice undertakes. The Council also has a network of workplace mentors and each apprentice is assigned a mentor to provide individual support.

You will part of the Property Services Team who provide across the board Property Management service for the Council, being responsible for the management and maintenance of the corporate estate plus providing a facility management service to Bridgwater House and Colley Lane Depot.

The teams workload has increased recently due to the Council investing £50 million in acquiring several commercial investments across the West Country. In addition, the team are responsible for managing the Council owned public car parks; 450 streetlights; administering temporary road closure notices; the “Community Right to Bid” and rights of way diversions under the planning acts.

The administration team provide crucial support to the technical officers ensuring that invoices; purchase orders; utility bills; public notice adverts etc are processed diligently and on time. The post holder would be required to provide essential administration support across the team, including Right to Buy administration, raising purchase orders and passing invoices for payment, answering telephone queries from staff, contractors and members of the public, assisting with the administration of various permits and passes, including staff and contractor access badges.
