Clerk to the Local Governing Committee
3 hours per week, term time only, 38 weeks per year (114 hours)
Grade 13 £10.21 – £11.27 per hour (£1,326 – £1,464 actual salary)
Selworthy Local Governing Committee, through its appointed and elected governors, plays a distinctive and essential role in the continuing success and development of the school.
We require a Clerk to the Local Governing Committee from October 2021. We are looking for someone who is well organised, demonstrates initiative, has excellent IT skills and is a great communicator.
The main areas of responsibility are organising and preparing for Governors’ meetings including writing agenda’s and producing accurate concise minutes along with advising on procedural issues of governance and the board’s statutory duties.
Attendance at Governors meetings is mandatory. Induction training for new clerks is provided by Somerset LA, as is termly update training.
The post involves some evening work and the successful candidate should also be available at times during the day (by arrangement). Integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential.
There will be 6 Committee evening meetings per year.
