We are currently recruiting for a Commissioning Officer in Taunton.

The Children and Young People’s Commissioning team is looking to recruit a Commissioning Officer to develop a shared understanding of the specific objectives set for the Team from the Children and Young People’s Plan and to design/implement a team work programme that will deliver them.

Here’s what you can expect to be doing

Working as part of a team that is responsible for commissioning across children’s services, you will work with a broad range of partners to co-ordinate, plan and commission the best possible services for children, young people and families in Somerset. Your portfolio will cover early help, social care and special educational needs and disabilities.

Ideally you will have demonstrable experience of managing or commissioning services for children and young people within health or social care, and be fully conversant with relevant legislative and procurement frameworks.  With a proven track record of project management and service transformation, you will be adept at delivering innovative and excellent outcomes.

Your ability to form strong, positive working relationships, together with your specialist knowledge and passion for improving outcomes for children and young people will ensure you excel in this role.

You will be based in Taunton with a requirement to travel county wide.
