Customer Care Apprentice

We have a vacancy for a Customer Care Apprentice within our Diagnostic Imaging Central Bookings Centre.   The candidate will be based at Musgrove Park Hospital in the first instance  but moving to the new Rutherfords Diagnostic Centre at Blackbrook Business Park, Taunton in 2022.

College Information

The working pattern will be discussed at the interview to ensure the successful candidates are fully supported in their learning and development and able to complete an educational pathway with the Bridgwater and Taunton College. The College is located across two primary sites but the majority of your delivery will be supported online, through asynchronous study.  You will be allocated a college academic mentor for the duration of your programme who will work with both you and your line manager to identify opportunities for growth and development and you will also attend a series of workshops to support knowledge development in business administration.

This is a fixed term contract for 18 months, gaining valuable work experience in Customer Services and a Level 2 qualification.

Salary Information for Apprentices

Year one of Apprenticeship: £8,385 per annum, pro rata – all age groups

Year two of Apprenticeship: age related if applicable

  • 19 – 20 years: £12,792 per annum, pro rata
  • 21 – 22 years: £16,302 per annum, pro rata
  • 23 and over: £17,374.50 per annum, pro rata

 

Main duties of the job

 

We have an exciting opportunity for  motivated and well organised person to join our already established Diagnostic Imaging Central Bookings team as an Apprentice.

The role is to provide a high quality  booking service for patients referred for Imaging/X-rays across all modalities such as CT, ultrasound and MRI scanning, plain film x-rays and bone densitometry scans.

The successful applicant will work in accordance with National and Local Policies and Systems of Work  ensure services are sensitive to patient needs.

The Central Bookings Centre has a team of 13 staff members booking appointments across all our modalities.  They are a committed team working together to provide the best possible service to our patients, in a friendly supportive environment.

This is a very busy role with high volume calls and would suit a customer care driven individual who is able to use their initiative and have the ability to cope with the demands of the service and work effectively as a team member.

It is expected that the post holder will work with support from their direct colleagues and team leader.

The working pattern will be over 5 days Monday to Friday.

A permanent Band 2 position at the end of the apprenticeship is guaranteed provided the successful applicant completes their NVQ and meets all training competencies.
