Desktop Support Technician
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the SCC Desktop Support team as a Desktop Support Technician. The team currently operate out of County Hall Taunton and remotely both from home and at various SCC hub sites and satellite offices. We offer a variety of shifts on a rota basis, covering from 8am until 6pm. We are currently involved in device deployments, fixing hardware and software faults, mobile device support and various new and exciting projects throughout Somerset.
Here’s what you can expect to be doing
We are the 2nd line support team for all SCC staff who may have a technical issue with their device, need to request some new kit or are just after some guidance on how best to use the kit we issue them with. We do this both face to face and remotely. We manage our calls via the Assyst system and use all kinds of tools to achieve this, including office 365, MS Teams, MSCM, Active Directory and many others. We also are involved in triage and escalating to our infrastructure support teams when a problem may require additional support from third line.
A few things about you
So if you have previous ICT 2nd line or Service desk support (including a working knowledge of Microsoft 365), can work as an effective team member, enjoy helping people, and have proven experience in a customer facing role in IT, we would like to hear from you.

Salary: £22,571 to £25,927 per annum
