Finance Business Partner – Commercial
This is a remotely based role with the requirement to attend meetings on site 2 or 3 times a month.
This business is growing – at a rate of knots. With over 60 new stores this year we’re really bucking the trend in retail. This growth means we’re busy – super busy and looking for great talent to join us. What this means for you, is the opportunity to join a team with an abundance of opportunity – to work in a role where you’re highly visible and able to really make an impact on the bottom line.
Day to Day
Challenge and Support. You’ll work with the Retail Operations team (from Retail Director to Regional Managers) providing challenge and commercial analytical support to help drive real and tangible commercial benefits. Giving the business a competitive edge through second to none decision support.
Data & Insight. Affording reporting and insight to both financial and non-financial stakeholders (that bit is key) the business will look to you to deliver insightful, accurate, consistent reporting and analysis that supports strong performance. Most importantly you’ll be adding value!
Bottom line. Leading and delivering cost savings, accuracy improvements and initiatives within key cost areas. Collaborating with finance and also non-finance teams to ensure that any initiatives, key store performance KPI’s or cost savings are maximised through effective business partnering.
You’re an analytical genius who builds brilliant business relationships and isn’t afraid to challenge stakeholders. You’ve got credibility and gravitas – but this isn’t all – you’ve also go the analytical know-how that gives you the self-confidence to know that your suggestions will work and add value!
Experience. You’ll be qualified or newly qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA (congratulations!) Experience in a large FMCG or retail company would help you get to grips quickly but it’s not a ‘must have’
Commercial. You’ve worked in a commercial environment (sales and margin) and can show that you had a broad understanding of the business and the impact of your role.
Analytical. You’re great on Microsoft, but most importantly you’re great on Excel and can manipulate data with your eyes closed. Again, if you’ve got knowledge of analytical modelling techniques/LFL’s/Profitability great, but don’t worry if not – if you’re successful you’ll get to learn all this
Yourself. Bring your whole self to work and let your true personality shine through
Toolstation. The story so far.
We’re one of Britain’s fastest growing multi-channel retailers of tools, accessories and building supplies. Backed by Travis Perkins plc, our freedom to operate as a nimble, entrepreneurial business means we’re now well established and have even bigger plans. The trade, home improvers and self-builders all trust us to deliver a lot more than tools.
So, our colleagues in our Head Office and Contact Centre in Bridgwater, at our Distribution Centres in Bridgwater, Middleton, Redditch and Daventry, and in our network of over 450 branches throughout the UK, work together to get the job done. And with plans to open another 60 branches this year, we always have opportunities for great retail professionals who want to grow with us.
