The HPC Jobs Service supports local people into exciting, long-term careers across our Project.
Are you seeking a unique challenge this year? One where you can build and develop your CAD experience within an exciting engineering field? If so, then we have a great opportunity for a Graduate CAD Technician to join COMA and work on Europe’s largest civil engineering projects at Hinkley Point C.
As a computer aided design (CAD) Technician, you’ll be responsible for producing and maintaining all engineering drawings for our projects at Hinkley Point C.
About the role
Working closely with our Designers, you’ll be constructing up initial concept and structural designs for pricing as part of the tender packs. Your role will see you designing chambers, pipelines, pit and duck systems and earth works.
Day to day, you will liaise with our delivery and project teams to make sure that every drawing is accurate and up to date. This will include updating standard symbols and libraries to achieve efficiencies and to ensure that drawings comply with the high-quality standards required for our client, as laid out in the CAD manual. You’ll also look after CAD system administration, so that drawings can be accessed quickly and easily for our teams and the client as required.
We’d like you to have an ONC, HNC or BTEC in a related discipline and a good technical understanding of CAD. You should have gained technical drawing skills in a water, civils or other engineering or infrastructure environment. You need to be capable of interpreting and implementing technical notes and drawing annotations, as well as general verbal or written instructions
Software’s we use include Navis Works, Reddit, Auto Cad and Civils 3D, so previous experience using these software’s are highly beneficial.
This is a very busy project environment, so you must be able to work effectively to tight deadlines and be able to handle changing priorities too. On occasion, you may need to work other sites locally, so ideally you will have a full driving licence
We are proud of how we support professional development, career progression and a wide range of opportunities for everyone. We have a wealth of both financial and non-financial benefits to offer our people and are committed to ensuring we provide an environment that supports health & wellbeing and flexible working.
