Homeless Placements Officer

We have an opportunity to join our new Projects and Lettings Team as a Homeless Placements Officer. This post will help and support households in need of temporary or emergency accommodation by making appropriate placements with housing providers both in the social and private sector.

You will need to have empathy with the circumstances that lead to homelessness and be keen to help and support those households affected into accommodation. You will need to have experience of working with housing providers to build and maintain robust relationships and working across teams to achieve the best outcomes.

It is also essential that you have working experience of welfare benefits and affordability, this includes supporting claims for housing benefit/universal credit (housing element) and recovery of rent. Excellent communication and IT skills are needed as well as the ability to write reports and present information.
