We are recruiting for a Housing Solutions Officer.
Sedgemoor District Council has an excellent record in the prevention of homelessness, and we are in the process of recruiting specialist staff to ensure we are ready to combat the effects of Covid 19.
The role of the Housing Advice Team is to provide our customers with a wide range of housing and housing related advice including enquiries regarding homelessness and advice to private landlords, we are expecting an increase in enquiries as a result of the pandemic and some specialist debt advice may be necessary.
We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced housing professional to join our hard working, flexible and supportive team. The role of Housing Solution Officer is challenging, but also rewarding as we seek to help our customers remain in their homes or secure alternative accommodation. Whatever the circumstances, the team will continue to work together to provide a first class housing advice service and to build on our homelessness prevention work. In order to meet these challenges, you will need to be highly motivated, supportive of other team members and possess an ability to work under pressure.
The successful applicants will have experience of dealing with customers, preferably in a housing environment and the ability to work with vulnerable client groups, as well as an in-depth knowledge of homelessness legislation, which will be tested in interview.
