Information Analyst – Business Intelligence
The Business Intelligence (BI) Team sits at the heart of the organisation and is key in driving evidence based decision making across the council.
Using robust data and information drawn from a wide range of sources, the BI Team ensures that the council has a rich understanding of its residents and localities as well as its performance and has the necessary intelligence and insights to plan and communicate its future.
Harnessing the value of new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence [AI] and machine learning to gain a deeper understanding of people and place will enable resources to be targeted most effectively improving lives and outcomes.
The BI team is creating a culture of using data and insight to drive improvements across the organisation, we want our managers and senior leaders to be eager for information, seeking increasing insight that can be used to make better and more effective decisions.
Here’s what you can expect to be doing
The Team plays a pivotal role in creating this culture, developing our business intelligence tools, providing insight and advice to our services to help them improve performance and innovating to improve the experience of customers and staff. It is anticipated that this role will have a focus on supporting the work of the Somerset Drug and Alcohol Partnership as well as supporting wider commissioning work across the council.
For this, you will respond to requests by finding, collating, processing information using tools such as Excel, PowerBi and SSRS or from using online information from .gov or other sources. Producing interactive dashboards that serve the needs of our services, is a key fundamental in this role.
We are working remotely at present but envisage a hybrid working model post pandemic whereby you will be able to balance your work location between working remotely and in the office in Taunton.
A few things about you
You will have an experience of working with data/databases and information, be numerate as well as a knowledge of using statistical analysis.
The salary for this role is Grade 11 ranging from £25,991 to £29,577 per annum.
