Working 37.5 hours a week, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and transport services which will see you deploy available resources to support the service users and staff at the site.

As a Maintenance Lead, you will be responsible for leading the maintenance team to ensure the service facilities are fit for purpose and will regularly conduct audits to identify and repair any faults. Working within an established team, you will turn your hand to all maintenance-related tasks, liaising and co-ordinating with contractors to support the upkeep of the service. You will be responsible for ensuring the equipment and facilities are well stocked and fit for purpose, which will see you will regularly conduct audits to identify and prioritise curative maintenance and repair services.

*There is an out-of-hours aspect to this role, which will see you ensure that the on-call rota is covered 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in a 1 in 4 week retaining on-call rota for the purposes of emergency maintenance
  • Managing the maintenance team to include conducting supervisions and appraisals
  • Ensuring that all aspects of health and safety and operational policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Ensuring the completion of fire alarm drills in line with company policy
  • To deliver fire evacuation training to all new employees on the hospital’s induction training program
  • To attend health and safety/Facilities meetings
  • To assess and complete departmental risk assessments
  • Ensuring the completion of PPM checks on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
  • Ensuring all essential systems are serviced according to company policy and all systems have compliant certification
  • Contacting/liaising and Co-ordinating all external contractors for the completion of any required works
  • Ensuring all internal/external gardens are always well kept and maintained
  • Ensuring all electrical appliances hospital wide are PAT tested and kept in good working order

To be successful as a Maintenance Lead, you’ll need:

  • Full driving licence with no more than 3 points
  • Experience in word and excel
  • Experience within a similar role
  • General building trade experience
  • To be helpful with a “can do” attitude
  • Ability to adapt – be practical
  • To be conscientious and team focused
  • Your own transport
  • Face to face experience of dealing with people
  • Ability to work under pressure, and responding to the Facilities Manager instruction

No formal qualifications are required. But must have building trade experience
