Marketing and Communications Officer

Shepton Mallet Town Council

Marketing, Communications and Community Engagement Officer in Shepton Mallet.

This is a brand new role, and an exciting opportunity to help drive forward our mission to make Shepton a better place to live, work, play and visit. We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic marketing and communications professional who will share our commitment and belief in the unique potential of our town.

This role will be responsible for all of the council’s communications and community engagement activities, working with a small, friendly council team, stakeholders and a thriving voluntary sector in Shepton spanning the arts and culture, sustainability, horticulture, festivals and a great deal more.

About you

If you are a strong ‘hands-on’ communications all-rounder used to developing and handling public relations, media, campaigns and marketing initiatives we would love to hear from you. We are looking for someone who’s ambitious, a team player, flexible and proactive, with an eye for detail. If this is you, please contact us. More information can be found in the job description by clicking apply.

There is a flexible approach to hours and location of work; clearly Covid 19 has forced us to work differently and largely remotely, and the council is currently using Zoom for its meetings.

If you think you could be the right person for the role and would like to work in a friendly and exciting organisation, we would love to hear from you.If youd like an informal chat before you submit your application please contact me, Charlotte Starkie, on 0800 061 4089.

Please click apply for the full job details and applications forms, you will be directed to the Town Council website.
