We are looking to recruit a Principal to join our forward thinking Multi- Academy Trust and lead The Huntspill Primary Academies (THPA). We need an exceptional primary leader with the ability, passion and enthusiasm to develop, promote and support the vision and direction of the two schools enabling them to build success through high quality education for all. The successful candidate will lead and manage the school on a day-to-day basis; alongside the leadership team and be the first point of contact for all stakeholders and external agencies.

The Huntspill Primary Academies comprise of East and West Huntspill Schools. East Huntspill (EHPA) has 75 children from Reception to Year 6 in 3 class, YR/1, Y2/3 and Y4/5 and 6. West Huntspill (WHPA) is slightly larger with 103 children and 4 classes. YR/1, Y2/3, Y4 and Y5/6. The two small on site pre-schools will formally join the Trust and become part of the schools from 1 January  2022.  The Huntspill Primary Academies joined The Priory Learning Trust in April 2021.

The Principal will be an ambassador for THPA and TPLT and continue to raise their profile in the wider locality, with a strong commitment to our values of students first, cherishing staff and serving communities. They will work closely with families, with the community and with other agencies to provide for the spiritual, moral, cultural, social and emotional needs of all children. The post holder will report to the Central Team and Chair of Academy Council, supporting them to ensure that the organisation reflects and promotes the ethos and values set by the Board of Trustees and the Academy Council.

We are looking for a leader with…

  • a deep commitment to the education, safeguarding and well-being of children and young people;
  • experience working as a Headteacher or as part of a leadership team to develop staff;
  • exceptional knowledge of and passion for primary education and how children learn;
  • inspirational and effective curriculum design awareness leading to quality outcomes for all children;
  • proven ability to generate and deliver collective vision and shared purpose, including building teams,   managing change and delivering results;
  • excellent communication skills.
