Principal Information Analyst Cancer

Somerset Foundation Trust is looking for a well-motivated individual to join the Corporate Information Business Intelligence & Analytical Team as the principle cancer analyst for Somerset.

They will lead on the provision of cancer reporting, cancer intelligence and strategic analytical support to improve cancer performance and cancer pathways across both Musgrove Park Hospital and Yeovil District Hospital.

The role will encompass the management of a wide variety of reporting and analytical processes and will require the development and responsibility of bespoke reporting to support cancer services across both trusts in system wide development.

To undertake this role you will demonstrate flexibility in approach; methodical working practices and high levels of data quality. As a reliable team player, you will possess excellent communication skills to disseminate your knowledge and skills to the Trusts’ Information Teams as well as liaising with colleagues of all disciplines across the Trusts.

The successful applicant will be involved in extracting data from the clinical systems (primarily the Somerset Cancer Register), applying analytical tools & techniques and developing reporting requirements which will include designing dashboards, modelling, employing statistical methods and using various tools such as SQL and PowerBI.

This is an excellent opportunity for a sharp minded individual with a passion in data to work in a role that will drive forward transformational change for cancer patients across Somerset.

Currently due to the pandemic the Trust has given support for the BI service to work from home. Going forward we are willing to continue this and will support the successful candidate working from home. There may be occasional times when the post holder will need to work from the named base or either of the two Acute sites.
