Principal Tree Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the forward looking arboricultural team at North Somerset Council.

We are looking for an experienced tree professional to lead a team of two delivering all aspects of tree management.

Our tree team manages all Council owned trees; administers Tree Preservation Orders and Conservation Areas; provides technical advice for Planning applications; and contributes to the wider green infrastructure provision across the authority.

You will work in a dynamic and supportive environment that will give you opportunities to develop existing high-quality initiatives including our tree risk management programme, contributing to our re-wilding initiative by planting 50,000 trees, supporting the delivery of the Council’s green infrastructure strategy, preparing and delivering our Ash dieback action plan and working with the local community wherever possible.
