Recruitment & Retention Assistant
We have identified an exciting new position with the purpose of supporting the on-site recruitment, new hire documentation and induction activities for new hires. This new role will be part of the Human Resources team but will be embedded within the Site and therefore will work closely with both HR and Site to ensure best practice is followed to improve the effectiveness of our recruitment and retention of new colleagues.
The role will be site based, 8.30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (37.5 hours per week) with some requirement to work early/late starts and the occasional weekend to have the opportunity to engage with shift workers.
Due to the environment at our sites, this role will see the successful candidate working in both the office and factory settings.
What will I be doing?
– Arranging and coordinating interviews, contacting candidates, and coordinating availability with hiring managers.
– Conducting selection interviews for a number of positions.
– Coordinating and conducting on-the-spot walk-in interviews, maximising opportunities to hire suitable employees.
– Making job offers, agreeing a start date with the candidate and initiating the contract of employment.
– Ensuring new hire documentation is completed
– Conducting local induction and site orientation, ensuring the employee is informed and receives a warm welcome.
– Conducting regular walk arounds of the factory, checking the wellbeing of new colleagues in the workplace
– Holding 1-2-1 meetings with new starters during their probationary period.
– Liaising with managers over any concerns or issues of new starters.
– Conducting exit interviews
– Supporting the HR team and Site with any ad-hoc administrative tasks.
