School Games Organiser (Sedgemoor and Mendip)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and talented individual to join a dedicated and professional team at Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership. The post holder will implement and support a range of delivery including a calendar of school games and competitions across all schools in Sedgemoor and Mendip to work with primary schools to increase regular participation; involve the least active through Change 4 Life Sports Clubs and increase links to local sport and physical activity opportunities. This post will also combine to deliver the outcomes of the Barclays Girls Football Partnership which aims to:

To give every girl equal access to football in school by 2024 through providing opportunities for girls to:

  • Learn through football in PE lessons
  • Participate in girls only football sessions
  • Compete in girls’ football school fixtures/events
  • Lead girls’ football activity for others.

We are looking for an individual with excellent knowledge of school sport, community sport and sports clubs’ structures, ideally with previous experience of planning, co-ordinating events and organising competitions. The successful candidate will be highly organised, with the ability to manage a range of projects at any one time and with good interpersonal skills.

This post will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check and reference checks.

2 year post (post is subject to continued funding agreement)
