Recovery Navigators – Safe Haven based in Weston Super – Mare (Bank Staff)

Hours:    Various Ad-hoc

Shifts:    Evenings between 17:45 – and Midnight.

Hourly Rate : Recovery Navigator £11.07 Per Hour.

Location:   North Somerset

 

This role will particularly suit applicants who are looking for flexibility, enjoy variety and are happy to work varying shift patterns.

We are particularly looking for people who are keen to take on short and long-term blocks of work.

This is a dynamic role which gives the right candidates a fantastic opportunity to use their knowledge, skills and experience in a wide range of services such as Safe Haven.

The Safe Haven centre is a Mental Health Crisis service. We Support individuals with Mental Health difficulties to find solutions and techniques to bring them back to baseline.

Some of the techniques we use are

• Active Listening

• Sign- posting to other services

• Self-soothing techniques

• Groups (such as anxiety management and meditation)

• Sleep Hygiene

• Referrals to other agencies where appropriate

 

The aim of the service is to provide short term crisis support, to empower the client working in a recovery orientated way. Second Step believes in the power of promoting independence and holding hope for the client at a time when the client is unable to do this for themselves.

You will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in a Mental Health Support role and be keen to widen your experience, working with service users with a range of support needs including Mental Health, Homelessness, and Drug and Alcohol Misuse.

You will also champion our recovery and psychologically informed approach as the best way to support people to move forward in their lives, wherever they are.

Second Step and the NHS offer an extensive training programme regarding mental health crisis, safeguarding and recovery orientated practice.
