A rare opportunity has arisen for a part time, 20 hour, band 4 Senior Administrator, at South Petherton Community Hospital. We are seeking a keen and motivated individual with a commitment to their role which can be demonstrated through the application form and at interview.
The post holder will need to hold a Business and Administration Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification, with skills and experience in line with the essential criteria within the job description.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be flexible, approachable and have the ability to prioritise their workload. As a band 4 administrator you will work as part of the administration team completing the day-to-day administration tasks as required, as well as providing administration support to the Hospital Matron and Senior Ward Sister.
You will have direct line management responsibility for all administration roles within the hospital, including rota creation and approval, appraisals and sickness/ annual leave monitoring and management. Alongside this you will manage petty cash, payments, and banking. You will have responsibility for all invoice requests, alongside ordering of consumables, receipting and preauthorisation checks for invoices.
In return you will receive enhanced payments for working unsocial hours, a generous holiday entitlement and pension scheme. This post will cover 3 fixed days per week over a Monday to Friday period.

About the hospital –
South Petherton Community Hospital opened in June 2011 – a state of the art building found in the heart of the beautiful South Somerset countryside. Mary Robertson Ward Stroke Recovery Centre has 24 beds, 20 of these beds are dedicated to Stroke rehabilitation and the remaining 4 are medically fit for discharge beds. Multiple other teams and services are based in the hospital, serving the people of Somerset. Staff are provided with excellent changing facilities and a staff room with access to outside seating located on the balcony.
Informal visits are encouraged and welcome.
