Senior Assessment & Review Officer
The Special Education Needs Disabilities (SEND) Casework Team in Somerset is an exciting and dynamic team and staff are focused on providing an outstanding service to children, young people and their families.
This team is part of the Inclusion Somerset Service within SCC and oversees a range of statutory support to meet the needs of children and young people (CYP) in education aged between 0-25 years. The team is consistently striving to make a positive difference to the lives of CYP with SEND and their families.
Here’s what you can expect to be doing
We are looking for a Senior Review and Assessment Officer to add capacity to the team and drive improvements across the team.
You will be responsible for ensuring CYP with SEND receive an Education Health and Care Assessment and Review within a timely manner which meets their needs.
A few things about you
You will have excellent communication skills and be committed to making a real difference. You will be expected to have outstanding customer service skills as the role will liaise with CYP, parents and a range of professional stakeholders on a daily basis.
A knowledge of SEND and partnership working with educational establishments, health and social care are essential attributes along with and excellent organisational skills and a positive mindset to embrace this challenging role. You will be expected to a carry a portfolio of responsibility for the team and this may include line management, taking a professional lead across a range of specialist areas.
