Senior Care Assistant
Are you an experienced Carer looking for a new challenge? Do you want to work with people to help them achieve their goals? Can you offer support to help others get back on their feet? Then this Reablement role could be perfect for you!
If this sounds like you, we can offer you a Company Car and Welcome Bonus of £150, competitive salary and other benefits to join our fantastic Reablement team working across Taunton and West Somerset.
As a Reablement Worker, you’ll be one of our Senior Carers, travelling to people’s homes across Taunton and West Somerset to provide high quality person centred care, tailored to the needs of each individual. This hugely rewarding role provides invaluable short term care to customers who are working towards goals, aiding in their recovery, often after hospital discharge, treatment or time in a care setting.
This is a full time role, so you will be working 39 hours per week on a rotational shift basis. Shift times are 07:00 to 14:30, and 14:30 to 22:00, and you’ll work 5 out of 7 days with alternate weekends.
About the Community Reablement role:
There is something very special about supporting people to relearn skills and regain their independence. You’ll be rewarded daily by seeing the changes that your support brings as each customer begins to recover the ability to go about their normal routines. You’ll help them, learn or re-learn life skills that may have been lost or are now restricted and encourage new ways that will improve their wellbeing, rebuild their confidence and enable them to be independent once again in their own homes.
Working alongside our excellent team of experienced Health and Social Care professionals and other multidisciplinary teams such as Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists, you will deliver Reablement plans that match individual needs, so this role really differs from customer to customer.
From specialist support with domestic duties and personal care to collaborating with hospital discharge teams, conducting rehabilitation exercises, recovery/care assessments or mobility techniques, and of course supporting their emotional wellbeing. The one thing that remains the same is the exceptional customer care we always promise to deliver.
For the people you will support, a short walk to the shops will be more than just a daily chore, it will be a giant leap towards independence. One of which you will be a vital part of.
Being a Carer isn’t a job, it’s naturally who you are. Your instinct to care, offer compassion and show kindness is inherent within you. You will love caring for vulnerable people, enjoy the variety of working across the community and appreciate the priceless impact your assistance has on those you help daily.
You’ll be experienced in care with minimum Level 2 in Care or equivalent with a full UK driving licence and willing to travel. You’ll have an exceptionally warm hearted and friendly manner, with lots of patience, a natural desire to help and a real ‘can do’ attitude that will inspire your customers. You’ll need to be very flexible in the way you work and also have flexibility to provide cover for our out of hours service when needed.
