£39,585 – £47,058 depending on experience
Maternity cover, 12 months fixed term contract or secondment full time
The Police & Crime Commissioner (PCC) has wide ranging responsibilities for setting the priorities and budget of the Constabulary, holding the Chief Constable to account for delivery of the Police and Crime Plan. The PCC also has wider responsibilities across criminal justice and community safety and commissions a wide range of services for both victims and offenders in order to support delivery of the Plan.
An opportunity has arisen in the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner a maternity cover post to lead on, support and deliver a range of commissioning, policy and partnership work. The Senior Commissioning and Policy Officer role will focus on criminal justice, supporting the PCC in his role as chair of the local criminal justice board and facilitating a number of multi-agency groups in order to improve the experience of those who come into contact with the system. This role may also be required to also provide support to the PCC in his role as national lead for Economic and Cybercrime.
Educated to degree level or equivalent, you ideally will have experience in commissioning, scrutiny work, developing initiatives, preparation of briefing documents and strategic partnership working. Confident, innovative and flexible, you will have excellent communication skills.
