To manage the day-to-day running of the setting: encompassing Kindergarten and School-age wrap around care. To lead and develop the childcare and admin teams in order to provide a safe and secure environment, adhering to company policies and procedures at all times.
To ensure that all children receive a high quality of provision, meeting EYFS and OFSTED requirements – focusing on our principles of Koselig and adventure. To support the Safeguarding Lead (as Deputy Safeguarding Lead), promoting the welfare of our children, team members and parents / carers. Promoting the aims and objectives of Kingwood Children overall, ensuring that the ethos and philosophy behind them is fulfilled.
Showing parents, carers and visitors around the Setting facilities as part of the enquiries process. Planning and organising of staffing schedules and holiday rotas to ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained in accordance with Ofsted requirements and Setting policies and procedures.
Promoting and facilitating relevant staff training and development opportunities. Establishing an nurturing a team of motivated professionals with a commitment to high standards, whilst supporting their wellbeing and career development. Ensuring the implementation of setting systems to monitor and record child development in line with EYFS guidelines.
Being responsible for the Health and Safety standards appropriate for the needs of young children and ensuring staff compliance and awareness; e.g. health and safety, food hygiene, administering of first aid, fire drill procedures. Recording accidents, injuries, dangerous occurrences and safeguarding concerns using the correct systems. Liaising with parents/carers, other family members and staff to help ensure that the particular needs of children are met and that parental choice is considered in terms of care given.
Leading a team of professional Early Years Educators to ensure good practice at all times and maintain a high standard of physical and emotional care. Working alongside parents/carers of children with additional needs to facilitate their inclusion into the Setting. Ensuring the confidentiality of all information received/stored, and the accuracy and integrity of the Famly App. Liaising with outside agencies as required. Supervising the training of students on placement or work experience within the Setting.
Assisting with the efficient upkeep of the building and maintenance, stock of equipment, furnishings and fittings; and recording any purchases in accordance with Setting procedures. Looking upon the Setting as a “whole” ensuring your contribution is best utilised, being constantly aware of the needs of the children.
Promoting and supporting the safeguarding of children and young people in the workplace, ensuring that all staff and volunteers observe Setting policies and procedures to keep children safe from harm (Deputy Safeguarding Lead). Assisting the Marketing Team in the promotion, representation and advertising of the Setting. Supporting the Personnel Manager in the effective recruitment and induction of new staff with the appropriate skills, qualifications, experience and qualities.
Reporting monthly on performance against agreed KPIs with specific accountability relating to Occupancy. Managing the upkeep of administrative processes and recommending improvements where necessary. Being accountable for your own development, and seeking out opportunities to learn new skills.
