Social Worker – Children with Disabilities

We are looking for qualified social workers who have a passion for working with children who are disabled or who would relish the opportunity to work in this rewarding and diverse area of social work.

The social workers within our teams work closely with children and their families in a creative way which looks to ensure that they can stay together and achieve their best hopes.

Here’s what you can expect to be doing

We cannot do this alone and working together with our multi-agency colleagues in health, education and social care is a key skill. We undertake all aspects of statutory work so no two days are the same.

This is a unique team where you may have the opportunity to work with children and their families from assessment through to adoption, including all aspects of safeguarding and Court work if that is what the child requires. We work with children from 0 through to 18 helping them achieve a successful transition into adulthood.

A few things about you

Your role will be to ensure that the voice of the child is heard in everything you do.

Your knowledge and skills will be a valuable asset to an already creative and dynamic team that really prides ourselves on being child focused and resourceful to ensure that the child is not lost behind their diagnosis. We value openness and honesty both as a team member and with our work with children and families.

You will need to be able to demonstrate your ability to work with partner agencies to contribute to children’s plans to help them become fulfilled adults in in the future.

Additional information

If this role is customer facing you will need to speak fluent English.

Feel free to get in touch with Mikayla Greedy on 07977 410642 or 01823 357008 for an informal discussion.

All interviews will be taking place virtually, using Microsoft Teams.

Due to the importance of the role we recommend applying as soon as possible as, depending on the level of response, we anticipate conducting interviews ahead of the closing date of 16th March 2021.
