Solution Developer

An exciting opportunity is available for a Solutions Developer within the IT Digital Solutions Team at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust (SfT). We are looking for a keen individual to work across a number of projects that are supporting the improvement of clinical workflows and patient care through the use of digital.

Main duties of the job

Projects include using FHIR and HL7 to exchange information between clinical systems such as our OpenEHR clinical data repository (CDR). Other projects include using low code tools, JavaScript, and development frameworks to create solutions to meet project/user/patient requirements.

Key technologies/systems being used with current development projects:
Intersystems Healthshare
JavaScript
Nextgen Connect (Mirth)
NodeJS
OpenEHR Platform including tooling
OpenEHR AQL
SQL
MS Sharepoint
MS PowerApps

The ideal candidate would bring a mix of skills and experience across the different technologies we use, but candidates who have specialised in specific areas also bring great value to the team. Projects are often assigned based individual strengths but we support and actively encourage team members to develop and broaden their skill sets where appropriate.

Working for our organisation

As an organisation, the NHS offers a wide range of benefits including flexible working, pension contributions, market leading annual leave allowance, career progression and regular conversations, not to mention our Blue Light Card and NHS exclusive discounts.

The benefits of working in Somerset include the idyllic countryside, with our areas of outstanding beauty and stunning coastlines. You will get to enjoy these perks whilst still only being a stone’s throw away from bustling city centres like Bristol, Bath and Exeter and only two hours away from London.

There are excellent educational facilities in the area and, when compared to other regions, house prices are reasonable. You will experience the best of both in Somerset, the countryside and the cosmopolitan – there is truly something for everyone!
