Supply Chain Audit Manager

The Supply Chain Audit Manager is responsible for establishing arrangements and capability to audit the HPC Supply Chain. Leading a team of Supply Chain Auditors, the post holder will develop an annual risk-based audit schedule and ensure its achievement.

The Post holder will develop tools and dashboards to monitor the efficiency of the process and monitor trends.

A key part of the post is to act on trending information in order to prevent recurrence, this will involve engagement with key stakeholders within the project.

Up to £358.00 pd PAYE Contract (+ 33 days paid leave).
Up to £473.00 pd Umbrella
8 hours per day. 40 hours per week.

Principal Accountabilities

•    To work closely with each Programme to ensure that entries to the Supply Chain Audit Schedule are appropriate and fit-for-purpose for a complex engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) project for the nuclear sector
•    Ensure the Supply Chain Audit Schedule addresses all relevant internal and external requirements and ensure compliance
•    Manage the team of Supply Chain Auditors and a Coordinator who are responsible for planning and facilitating both desktop and onsite audits
•    Support the Supply Chain Audit Team in this facilitation and in maintaining appropriate relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
•    Receive input from the NNB/HPC Supply Chain Assurance, Supply Chain Inspection, Independent Assessment team and individual Programmes to identify opportunities for improvements to the Supply Chain audits references
•    Review quality management data and reports, in relation to Supplier performance, from across the HPC organisation, including quality audit reports, independent assessments, non-conformance reports and effectiveness reviews.  Carry out analysis and make the necessary amendments to each particular Supplier audit for improvements and mitigation;
•    Participate in Level 4 meetings with the nuclear regulator relating to Licence Condition requirements
•    Communicate Supply Chain Audit roles and responsibilities, review Supply Chain Audit Team competencies and identify training/development needs;
•    Identify, engage, mentor, support and develop Supply Chain Audit resources to effectively support the business. Monitor personnel performance and provide regular feedback;
•    Monitor the timely and effective closure of Supplier audit findings
•    Identify and communicate improvements to quality performance metrics, targets and reporting tools to drive appropriate behaviours;
•    Review and report Supplier quality performance (audit findings) across the Programmes. Assist the Programmes to understand the data and co-ordinate initiatives to improve Supplier performance;
•    Drive the Trust agenda forward by ensuring hat all decisions affecting customers meet the Trust Test, deliver the desired customer outcomes and provide customers with the ability to make informed choices;
•    Develop, maintain and continuously improve processes, procedures, templates and guidance in support of efficient execution of the scope

 

Essential
•    Minimum of 5 years’ experience in quality management with extensive experience in project systems implementation
•    Experience gained in a regulatory environment, e.g. aerospace, medical
•    Possess a recognised Quality qualification and accreditation;
•    Be qualified as a Lead Auditor with experience of completing supply chain audits;
•    Broad experience of implementing a variety of quality related solutions;
•    Experience of interfacing with project teams and with supply chain organisations;
•    Pro-active and flexible, being prepared to plan and work on own initiative;
•    Proven track record of leading teams to deliver results;
•    Proven experience of interaction and resolving issues with a wide range of stakeholders in a multi-cultural environment.

Desirable
•    Proven leadership experience working in a quality assurance/control environment within the nuclear industry or other relevant safety critical industry;
•    Member of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI);
•    Experience of interacting with regulators e.g. the ONR.

 

Qualifications & Experience

Essential
•    Ability to contribute to teams and to understand whole of business issues;
•    Ability to build rapport across all functions, government, workforce, subcontractors and suppliers
•    Qualified Quality Auditor with proven experience in auditing major projects, design consultants and subcontractors
•    Familiar with technical processes and quality practices associated with construction and manufacturing
•    A clear and considerable understanding of quality management best practice for deployment by large, complex and contract-led organisations
•    Knowledge of National and International standards such as, ISO 9001
•    Confident and articulate communicator, able to prepare presentation material, and comfortable addressing individuals, small groups and very large audiences
•    Act as a strong advocate for best practice, able to support and defend practical deployment and solutions, whilst remaining open to the ideas of others;
•    Experience of interfacing with project teams and with supply chain organisations;
•    Analysis of data, preparing reports and making recommendations;
•    The ability to influence and to provide constructive challenge which is accepted by others;
•    The ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including 3rd party certification bodies and EDF Group entities;
•    Pro-active and flexible, being prepared to plan and work on own initiative;
•    Fluent in English language

Desirable
•    Working in various roles in the construction contracting industry including Project Engineer, Contracts Administrator, Project Quality Manager, Design Manager and Project Manager
•    Knowledge of the nuclear sector, ideally new build, and knowledge & understanding of nuclear site license conditions
•    Knowledge of National and International standards such as GSR Part 2, ISO19443 and ISO27001
•    Ability to speak other European languages is advantageous, e.g. French, German
