Tissue Viability Service Administrator

The Tissue Viability Administrator will be required to provide comprehensive and efficient administrative support to the Community Tissue Viability Service.  Supporting the daily running of the clinical service via referral processing, ordering and management/distribution of specialist dressings stock of the county, and administrative support of key Trust and strategic working groups.

The post holder will work closely with the Service Manager offering administrative support to maximise time efficiencies within the team and support the ongoing work of integration and merger with the Acute Teams.

 

Main duties of the job

 

This includes:

  • Supporting the daily running of the service via processing of service referrals, support of clinical triage process and monitoring of the Team Inbox.
  • The arrangement, organisation and minuting of meetings in a timely and effective way.
  • Comprehensive correspondence, diary and document management.
  • Management of databases for the purpose of audit.
  • Dealing with telephone enquiries from service users and colleagues.
  • Organising their own workload.
  • Working closely with clinical team members to deliver co-ordinated service support.
  • Work within Somerset NHS Foundation Trust Values and core standards whilst maintaining a service to colleagues and service users.
  • Work flexibly across Community and Acute based teams, as required.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

We are looking to recruit a full time administrator to join the Community Tissue Viability Service, based at South Petherton Community Hospital. Must be able to work the core service hours of 9-5pm.

We are looking for someone with the following qualities:

  • Advanced knowledge of information technology packages including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A high level of attention to detail to ensure all the work associated with the service management and patient care is correct.
  • The ability to multi-task and deal with conflicting demands throughout the working day.
  • Highly organised;
  • The ability to follow set processes for some of the work required;
  • Intermediate Excel skills;
  • The maturity and confidence to be able to establish working relationships across varied areas of the health and social care sector/teams.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Good standard of general education – 5 GCSE’s or equivalent including English and Maths
Desirable criteria
  • Diploma level / NVQ 4 in Business Administration or equivalent
  • RSA / OCR III or equivalent typing / word processing qualification

Knowledge

Desirable criteria
  • Working knowledge of Somerset NHS Foundation Trust systems
  • Advanced knowledge of information technology packages including Microsoft Office Suite

Experience

Desirable criteria
  • Recent proven experience of office based working

Organisation

Desirable criteria
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and to keep deadlines with minimal supervision

Others

Essential criteria
  • Access to transport to travel in connection with the post e.g.: to attend meetings or training events across the county.
