Trainee Accountant

Our client, Portt and Co, are on the search for an Accounting professional who may have 2-3 years experience working in accounts payable or bookkeeper role and are wanting to study for their ACCA qualification whilst also working.

The Trainee Accountant Apprenticeship

You will be working with Portt & Co on a full-time contract and attending college 1 day per week to complete your ACCA qualification which should take 3 to 4 years depending on your current AAT qualification.

Your day to day will include tasks such as:

  • Reviewing results of data extraction and posting through to Xero accounting software
  • Import bank statement files into Xero, configuring pre-defined rules and posting transactions
  • Posting relevant nominal journals including prepayments and accruals
  • Reconciling balance sheet control accounts
  • Preparing management accounts
  • Adding starters and leavers to UK payroll systems
  • Managing own work schedule and deadlines to pre-agreed schedules

 

The Candidate

You will need to have a few year’s experience in an Accounts role and have your AAT level 3 or 4. Portt & Co emulate their values through their people, so you will have a passion for helping and advising your clients, a genuine care for the work they do via Ecologi and a desire to push yourself to achieve.

You will be friendly in nature with a good team ethos however the ability to work individually and pro-actively is a must have.
