Join The Great British Job Search this November for a 3 day virtual event.
The UK unemployment rate has surged to its highest level in over three years as the pandemic continues to hit jobs.
With furlough now being extended, redundancies are on the rise and according to analysis from Citibank, the unemployment rate could hit 8.5% in the first half of 2021 – a level not seen since the early 1990s.
The estimated number of redundancies throughout the next month in the UK is astonishing, and that’s why the Great British Job Search has launched a three day FREE virtual event from November 11th – 13th, which will offer hope, guidance and much-needed support for not only jobseekers but people who may be struggling with their identity or mental health during an extremely scary time.
This event has been designed for a lifeline for people affected by furlough, redundancy, and the high numbers of job losses that are being announced every day.
This event offers a flexible and accessible approach to help, for people struggling alone at home. The agenda allows people to select and freely join any or all of the sessions that they think are right or relevant to them. Registered participants are able to view all sessions for up to 48 hours after the.
With six sessions a day, delivered by pre-recorded speeches (to minimise technical challenges), every expert has created specific content for people going through the challenges that jobseekers face today, and the scary reality of job search at this time.
There will be a selection of key topics covered over the three days including:
- Personal Finances
- How to deal with redundancy
- Confidence building
- Personal branding
- CV creation workshops
- How to interview for jobs in the new world
- Utilising social media for job searching, and loads more!
Key speakers during the event will include:
Dr. Jodie Lowinger, CEO Mind Strength and Author of ‘The Mind Strength Method’

For me this process starts with the right mindset, I will share with you how you can change your mindset to give yourself the best possible chance to find alternative employment. There will be many great speakers sharing how and what it takes to find employment in these unique times”.
James Smith, Founder of Great British Job Search commented:
“Since the announcement of a second UK lockdown, people are suffering from more grief, their mindset is damaged further, their mental health decline is accelerating, their personal health declining with gym closures – and increases in alcohol and drugs continue, they will argue more and their head will be consumed with negativity, but this is why The Great British Job Search has to go ahead.
“The numbers are utterly terrifying, but every person needs to remember that the numbers aren’t their problem; they are the Government’s problem. People are struggling; innocent people who don’t deserve this to happen. The numbers around unemployment are scary but the worst part is that behind every number is a real person, a person that needs real help.
“The Great British Job Search aims to do exactly that; to help people come to terms with unemployment, give them access to ways to cope and hopefully rebuild their future. We have to remember that when we look at the statistics, every person who is unemployed has a name. A real person who is being asked to find answers to questions they don’t know. We want to help them deal with this, find new ways to cope and rebuild their future; and that’s why we came up with The Great British Job Search”.
